Protection Of our Children

All children deserve to be brought up in a safe environment. We here at the Silver Oak Orphanage believe that protection of the children in our care is extremely important. We work hard to provide an environment where students are safe, treated with respect and dignity. Working with standard and international rules and guidelines for the protection of children we have implemented a number of policies with the assistance of numerous organizations and professional advice.

What We Do To Keep Our Children Safe

PROTECTION POLICIES:

Regulations in line with Standard Laws and embrace the principle of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

SAFETY AWARENESS:

We partner with social workers, national and international organizations to train our staff and children in safety awareness.

EXPERIENCE:

With over 10 years of collective experience in child care, we are always alert for signs of abuse, Our team constantly monitors interactions between staff, volunteers, visitors and children for signs of abuse.

CCTV SYSTEM:

Almost 100 closed circuit tv camera systems operate night and day in all public spaces across our compound to assist in keeping our children safe.

VOLUNTEER SCREENING:

We carefully screen each and every volunteer and visitor who enter our gates. References are checked and more than 80% of applicants are turned away.

NO TOLERANCE POLICY:

We believe there is no room for error when it comes to the protection of children. Our no tolerant policy does not allow any room for those who would seek to hurt our children.

All visits to the Silver Oak Orphanage must be pre-arranged via the Orphanage website: http://www.silveroakorphanage.tk/ apply Due to safety issues and to minimize the impact on the work of the Orphanage, it id not possible to arrange last minute visits.
